Jason & Sarah: (K)razy in Kommetjie

This couple. What an absolute ray of laughter and light they were! They were booked to get married in 2020, but then Covid struck and we had to postpone. Then, their beautiful boy made his appearance in 2021 and we ended up postponing again so that he could also happily make the trek across the ocean from the UK (and mum could fit into her stunner of a dress again!) Through this entire process they were just such a joy and pleasure to work with, I am actually sad that the journey has come to an end. They got married at the groom's parent's house in Kommetjie, with views to die for. Right...

Hanan & Omar

Hanan and Omar are both ambassadors for their countries. They travel a lot, know a lot of very influencial people and both love Cape Town. Omar is originally from Lisbon and to include most of his family, they had their wedding ceremony there.  Cape Town was the natural choice for the reception and party and it was sublime. Hanan has a timeless (and effortless) beauty about her and she looked absolutely radiant in her sleek, modern gown. The soft palette of white, green and hues of blue complimented the ocean vistas seen through the glass doors of the venue perfectly and even the weather...

Lanie & Franco: A Karoo celebration

When you think of the Karoo, you think arid ground, red hills, warm sunshine... For the most part, this is all true, except for the week before Lanie and Franco's wedding. The heavens opened and the Karoo was under flood! What was going to be an al fresco wedding deluxe, turned into a creatively covered celebration. Back story: Lanie is one of six daughters and they all grew up and got married on their family farm in the beautiful Oudshoorn district. Lanie being the youngest and last to get married was devastated when their farm was sold, thinking she would not be able to get married...

Havana (ooh la la)

“Havana is one of the greatest cities of the world, sublimely tawdry yet stubbornly grateful, like tarnished chrome – a city, as a young Churchill once wrote, where ‘anything might happen’.” – Jonathan Miles We were toying with a few ideas for this corporate and when the baton finally landed on "Havana Nights" we were thrilled! The chosen venue already ha more than a moderate Havana aesthetic, so we could just add a few minor touches to make it a bit more Cuban chic. Panama hats and cigars set the tone and the music enticed the guests to sway to the beat. After a very gruelling year, this...

Sunelle and Rühan: A Franschhoek Fairytale

I am more than a little biased, but this was my absolute favourite wedding of all time! My husband and I decided to do things a little differently and our hearts were really to just have an intimate and really special ceremony with our closest family and friends. From the moment we started planning, I had a sunset ceremony in mind and in my mind's eye it just had to be in a little chapel with big windows, surrounded by mountains and water. Tall order? Not so much, thanks to La Roche! It being winter, we opted for warm and moody and looking back, I can't think of a single thing that didn't...
