"But is it Art?" is the question we asked ourselves for this amazing client's 40th birthday celebration. We chose a gallery as the back-drop and created three main areas for guests to mingle in. Canapés and cocktails were enjoyed in an area that was moody, in jewel tones and accents of black and gold while dinner was an all-white experience. The real vibe was the neon dance space, accented by strings of LED lights and bright pink uplights. The piéce de résistance was an artfully made cake, layered with colour and interesting texture. As part of the entertainment (and also the birthday...
Woolworths Financial Services: Seven Colour Celebration
Woolworths Financial Services is a long-standing client of ours. When they approached us for their first gala event since Covid, the excitement was palpable! They wanted to do something fresh, celebrating a year of success and have fun while doing it. We toyed with a few ideas until we eventually landed up at the "Seven Colours" concept, based (very) loosely on the Soweto Food Festival of the same name. Each colour represented a positive message and we wanted the guests to walk away feeling empowered. There were photo booths for each theme and each one was a vibe! We used coloured lights...
Alice and Duane: A warm, Wellington wedding
Alice and Duane was one of our "Covid couples": they hail from the UK and were going to get married in 2020, but then had to postpone due to Covid-19. They chose Au d'Hex in Wellington for its views and the magnificent mountain vistas and we had the most beautiful weather on their wedding day - almost as if nature wanted to console them for having to get married a whole year later than planned. The guests were so grateful to have been able to travel and to be part of their friend's celebration and the vibe was incredible. It was a beautiful day and we were glad that we were able to be a...
Kerri & Matt: Summer love in Stellenbosch
When you spend more than 5 minutes with Kerri and Matt, you just know that they are meant for each other. They are fun and adventurous, but also kind-hearted and generous and it was such a pleasure planning their big day and getting to experience it with them. Nooitgedacht is one of those venues that have so much to offer in terms of different spaces and areas that you can utilise, but the bride had her heart set on a ceremony in the lane. This is also one of our favourite ceremony spots, with the trees so perfectly framing the sacred moments and providing enough shade for guests to be...
Tash & Craig: A beautiful Constantia celebration
Tash and Craig where ready, set, go to get married on 28 March 2020. Suppliers were paid, timelines were set up… and then we had to cancel all our plans a week before the wedding due to South Africa going into hard lock-down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. All the joy and pent up excitement quite suddenly had nowhere to go. There was just… silence. We all felt a little defeated. Suppliers were contacted and new plans were made to postpone the wedding to 30 January 2021 (because, surely, by then Covid would be something of the past… right?) We carried over all our plans and dreams to this...
